Re: [BBU] Curve

Even on 8520 you can check-in. 8520 has A-GPS which is sufficient.

Wondering what others users of Torch 9850 are using as slider lock for their home screen, to prevent unintended key press.

Somewhat disappointed Blackberry didn't include this in the phone. For that reason I am resisting paying for an app.

I downloaded a couple free versions, but I always get an annoying prompt asking me if I want to upgrade to full version.

Thanks!

Re: [BBU] Bold 9900

Yep, other than the accidental swiping the touchscreen I can't fault it.

I'm visually impaired and was almost tempted to try an iphone, but didn't like the fact that the only true voice command system was on the 4s which u had to pay loads for.

Least the blackberry is reliable and doesn't object when I use my left hand to hold it

I still rely heavily on the keyboard but I do you use the touchscreen from time to time, for example scrolling or controlling media while exercise. If accidental responses are a problem, I think you can change the sensitivity or I bought a screen lock app (tons out there) called S2Unlock. At first, I was swiping the screen to unlock and if I didn't catch it exactly, I would have to keep re-swiping but then I realized you can use the trackerpad instead and it is 100 accurate first time, not sure if all of the screen lock apps have that feature (trackpad swipe to unlock) but I am very pleased with it now.

I've also recently moved to a 9900 from a curve 9300 and I love it.

I had a 9700 before the curve but now don't even reach for the convenience key on the left hand side.

What I find confusing is the touch screen. More than once its caught me out when I'm not paying attention.

Other than that, I love the phone and all that's about it.

Anyone else on the Bold 9900? I just switched from a 9700 to 9900 a couple weeks ago and while I prefer the smaller form of the 9700/80/90, I am very pleased with the 9900...just keep expecting there to be a left side convenience key! lol

I use S2Unlock on my 9900 and am very pleased with it. If I recall, there is a free version but it prompts you to upgrade...finally I just bought it instead.
